Earlier this week was the official release of the poster of the DC Aquaman movie staring Jason Moma, they have just now also released an official website.
The official movie poster was released yesterday (July 16, 2018) and shows Arthur Curry a.k.a. Aquaman crouching on a rock at the bottom of the ocean, surrounded by an army of aquatic animals.
It has been confirmed that the story will be around Aquaman’s origins, therefore the tagline refers to Arthur Curry’s return to Atlantis as explained by the character himself in More Fun Comics #73 (November 1941), his first appearance:
The story must start with my father, a famous undersea explorer—if I spoke his name, you would recognize it. My mother died when I was a baby, and he turned to his work of solving the ocean’s secrets. His greatest discovery was an ancient city, in the depths where no other diver had ever penetrated. My father believed it was the lost kingdom of Atlantis. He made himself a water-tight home in one of the palaces and lived there, studying the records and devices of the race’s marvelous wisdom. From the books and records, he learned ways of teaching me to live under the ocean, drawing oxygen from the water and using all the power of the sea to make me wonderfully strong and swift. By training and a hundred scientific secrets, I became what you see—a human being who lives and thrives under the water
The powers of Aquaman are to be able to stay indefinitely under water, have a superhuman strength and to be able to telepathically communicate with the sea wildlife.
Following the poster relase, DC launched the official Aquaman movie website.
From here you can read more about the synopsis and the cast of the movie. There’s also a link to a gallery that is for now only showing the poster image.
No doubt that this will soon change, so I recommend you to go back and check once in a while if you are an Aquaman fan and want to be on top of anything to know about the upcoming movie that will be released in December 2018.
